About Living Apologetics
Faith Lived. Faith Defended.
Our Mission
"To equip believers with the intellectual foundations of Christian faith while encouraging the practical application of biblical truth in every area of life."
Living Apologetics exists to bridge the gap between academic theology and everyday Christian living. We believe that robust theological understanding should lead to vibrant spiritual life, and that defending the faith requires both intellectual rigor and genuine spiritual transformation.
What We Believe
Living Apologetics is committed to historic, orthodox Christianity as expressed in the great creeds and confessions of the faith. We hold to the authority and sufficiency of Scripture, the Trinity, salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, and the essential doctrines of the Christian faith.
Our Theological Approach
- Scripture-Centered: We believe the Bible is God's inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word
- Christ-Focused: All theology finds its center and meaning in the person and work of Jesus Christ
- Gospel-Driven: The good news of salvation shapes our understanding of all doctrine
- Historically-Informed: We learn from the wisdom of church history and tradition
- Practically-Applied: Truth must be lived out in real life, not merely understood intellectually
Our Approach to Apologetics
We believe Christian apologetics should be both intellectually robust and spiritually grounded. Our approach combines:
Evidential Apologetics
Examining the historical, philosophical, and scientific evidence that supports Christian truth claims, including the reliability of Scripture, the historical evidence for Jesus, and rational arguments for God's existence.
Presuppositional Apologetics
Recognizing that all reasoning begins with foundational assumptions, and demonstrating how the Christian worldview provides the necessary preconditions for rational thought, morality, and meaning.
Pastoral Apologetics
Understanding that apologetics is ultimately about people, not just arguments. We seek to defend the faith with gentleness and respect, always remembering that behind every objection is a person created in God's image.
Why "Living" Apologetics?
The word "living" in our name reflects our conviction that authentic Christianity is never merely intellectual assent to propositions, but involves the transformation of the whole person - mind, heart, and life.
Faith Lived
We believe that theological truth must be embodied in how we live, love, worship, work, and witness. Christianity is not just a worldview to be understood, but a life to be lived in relationship with the living God.
Faith Defended
We are called to "always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have" (1 Peter 3:15). This requires both understanding the intellectual foundations of our faith and being ready to share them graciously.
